New Route 59 will be added to provide weekend and holiday service on the west side of the city.  Route 59 will complement the weekday Route 52 service.

Route 59 will create a new weekend and holiday service between the West Transfer Point and the Fitchburg Business Park located on the south side of McKee Road, west of Seminole Highway.  Buses will operate express with no stops from the West Transfer Point to the intersection of Red Arrow Trail and Thurston Lane.  From this intersection the route will provide service through Belmar, Chalet Gardens, Jamestown, Jamestown Commercial Addition, Orchard Pointe, and Nesbitt Heights.  The route will also continue on McKee Road providing service to the City of Fitchburg Commerce Park, including Star Cinema Theater, and the Fitchburg Business Park.    Trips would operate once an hour in each direction, generally between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 10:30 P.M., on weekends and would provide holiday service following the “holiday service day schedule” similar to other Metro routes.  Rte 59 Schedule
