Commercial Refuse & Recycling Collection
The City of Fitchburg requires that commercial properties (ie: businesses, institutions, condominiums, or multi-family dwellings larger than 4 units) provide for their own recycling and refuse collection. City Ordinance requires recycling of the following materials:
Lead acid batteries
Major appliances
Waste oil
Yard waste & Brush
Aluminum containers
Bi-metal containers
Corrugated paper and other containerboard
Foam polystyrene packaging
Glass containers
Magazines
Newspaper
Office paper
Mixed paper
Plastic containers
Steel containers
Tires

Owners of commercial properties may also elect to take their own recyclables to one of the following facilities:
