How to Apply
A City of Fitchburg designated application form is required for all positions an individual is interested in applying for. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of a completed application form. Applications are accepted daily from 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. Contact Human Resources at (608) 270-4211 if you have specific concerns or questions about the recruitment. Applications received via fax or e-mail will not be considered.
Deadlines (as stated on the position announcement)
Completed application materials must be RECEIVED by the date specified in the job announcement. You may mail or drop off your completed application materials at the City of Fitchburg (City Hall Building), 5520 Lacy Road, Fitchburg, WI 53711. Failure to submit all required application materials by the deadline indicated will disqualify you from consideration.
Application Materials
Please note the list of items below, which outlines what to include when returning your application materials for consideration. Complete Application Materials Will Include the Following:
- Police Officer Application for Employment - please fill in all areas, including responses to section 6 - DO NOT indicate “see resume” should your application become separated from the rest of the information, we would be unable to consider you further. Additionally, applications must include your signature on the last page. Failure to do so will disqualify you.
- Your Resume
- Cover Letter indicating how you found out about the opening (please specify a publication name & date).
- Certifications and/or Training Information (optional, but encouraged - any additional information you can provide will help us more effectively evaluate your candidacy for this position).
- References - at least three must be included on the application - additional references would be helpful in making the choice for the final group of qualified candidates.
- Affirmative Action Supplement (optional)
NOTE
All application materials submitted become the property of the City of Fitchburg and will not be returned. You are encouraged to make additional copies of any documents you will be sending in.
