Theme/Scope
The theme for this photo collection is a variety of facility types throughout the history of Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Facility types featured include agricultural, civic, commercial, organizational, railroad, religious, residential, and settlements. Within the 14 items in the collection, there were four barns, a church, a railroad milk depot, three civic facilities, a farm, a family residence, an organizational facility, a settlement, and a commercial complex. These materials were obtained from the Fitchburg Historical Society. The scope of this collection is limited to items in which one or more facilities are featured. A facility was defined as a structure that has a roof. Also, the location of the facility or facilities, past or present, was limited to what currently is in the Fitchburg city limits according to the Planning department's zoning map. Finally, the date of materials is limited to 1878 to present (i.e. 2009).
