Transportation Planning

The Engineering Division staff works cooperatively with the Planning Department and the Transportation and Transit Commission (TTC) on the transportation planning efforts of the City.

TTC has the responsibility of developing the Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan, developing and maintaining a transit plan, and addressing the multi modal transportation planning issues and concerns as the Common Council may deem necessary.

Traffic Counts

The Public Works Department conducts traffic counts on various local streets each year throughout the City. An Average Daily Traffic map is prepared to identify trends in traffic growth and travel patterns in the City. WisDOT conducts traffic counts on county and state highways approximately every 3 years.
