Nine Springs (Golf Course) Park Master Plan
The City of Fitchburg has begun the process of developing a Nine Springs (Golf Course) Park Master Plan to identify options for future use of golf course area, including continued use as a golf course or other park/open space uses. The City's Park Commission will be overseeing the plan development process.
The plan development process began with a survey distributed to interested parties to gauge public opinion about potential future uses of the golf course area. Similarly, plan development meetings have or will be scheduled to gather input from interested parties throughout the plan development process. The first plan development public meeting was held on August 22, 2013, a second plan development meeting/open house was held on October 24, 2013, and a third plan development meeting was held February 6, 2014.
**A PUBLIC HEARING for the Nine Springs (Golf Course) Park Master Plan will be held Thursday, March 6, 7:00 p.m., Council Chambers, Fitchburg City Hall, 5520 Lacy Road, Fitchburg. The purpose of the hearing is to solicit comments from the community on the current golf course use at Nine Springs and the Park Alternative Master Plan. The Parks Commission will be approving the Park Alternative Master Plan at the hearing, with the Plan to be reviewed by the Common Council on March 25. All interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing.
