Natural Resources

Mission

One mission of the Parks, Recreation, Forestry and Natural Resources Department is to "conserve, protect, and enhance Fitchburg’s most valued natural, cultural, and historical resources for generations to come."

We aim to "maintain and promote stewardship of the natural environment to promote appreciation among members of the community." This objective is demonstrated in the Conceptual Park & Open Space Proposal, which is intended to guide responsible urban growth.
