Building Inspection
The City of Fitchburg Building Inspection Department assures both an established and effective level of building safety and health for the public who purchase, own, build, or use buildings and other structures throughout the City.
The department enforces the Commercial Code and Uniform Dwelling Code, which includes the building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, thermal, housing and erosion control efforts. The building inspectors review plans and perform inspections as required. The inspectors also review new code editions and recommend local adoption changes and provide public assistance/education on content, intent, and compliance with building codes.
Hours of Operation
The Building Inspection Department is open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday at 5520 Lacy Road.
